… is going on?!
We know, we know. The HiCaliber Facebook page disappeared. Michelle disappeared. So what the heck is going on? Someone said once that patience is a virtue, but that person wasn’t used to a 24 hour news cycle and drones delivering Amazon packages on the same day. So, we get it.
For starters, let us introduce ourselves. We are a group of Michelle’s friends who support and love her. We love her ability to get a horse to trust her immediately. We love her wacky tattoos and her humor. We love her not-very-well-known cooking skills. Has she made mistakes? Yes. We love her anyway. That’s how love works. We love that in the midst of those mistakes, she never failed the horses.
If you contact the site, you will get a response from “Michelle’s Team.” We don’t think she’s wild about this handle because it makes her the center of attention, and boy is she over that. Over. It. But she’s busy handling other stuff and we made an executive decision. Sorry, Michelle!
To start, we thought we would answer some questions that have rolled in:
Why are we anonymous? Very few people are aware of how extreme the levels of bullying, cyberbullying, harassment, stalking, and yes, death attempts became. Some of the highlights were publicly shared, but most of the information wasn’t. (And yes, law enforcement was involved). Bottom line: no thanks. We assume that some internet sleuths with nothing better to do will try to figure it out and eventually will, but until then why help them out?
Where is Michelle and why isn’t she saying anything? She will, promise. Michelle’s silence has been nothing more than a bi-product of the all the chaos of the last few weeks. She is concentrating on what is most important right now, but we’ve told her about all the messages of love and support that came in ever since this site was discovered, and she is grateful. She will tell her story, in due time. Pinky promise.
Yeah, but why is the Facebook page down? Well, the rescue has closed (although its contracts are still enforceable, please be aware!). It doesn’t need a Facebook page. But even if it were still open, Facebook is kinda over, going the way of MySpace and Friendster. (Remember them?). It’s just a clunky, ineffective way to connect with people, filled with bots and trolls who take up space and make a buzzing noise that is impossible to cut through. Even before the rescue’s closure, its principals were looking at different ways to communicate with its supporters.
The hunt for that new method is still on, and while we have some ideas, we would love to hear from you about it. WordPress is still new to us and frankly kinda counterintuitive. (We just learned how to add tags and categories, and there was a lot of swearing and exasperated sighs and we aren’t really into it and it still doesn’t seem like it worked). So send us a message or comment below with ideas about the best way to connect. (While we figure it out, if you are a WordPress genius, we would love to hear from you).
More soon, promise. – Michelle’s Team

Was really expecting to see more traffic here – Can’t wait to see what’s in store!

Thanks for stopping by! We are getting quite a few direct messages but not as many comments. People are probably just exhausted at this point…

I believe there may be concern about commenting publicly with love and support. The harassment and attacks for voicing support and truths in previous forums resulted in immediate assaults against us. I hope with this new format we’ll begin to see more openly positive vibes.
